About

The Driftwood Poets blend Americana, country noir and contemporary folk through stripped-back arrangements, close harmonies and atmospheric live sets. Reworking a mix of modern and classic songs, the band bring a warm, understated sound shaped by folk storytelling, alt-country and Nordic influences — balancing nostalgia with a darker, more cinematic edge.

Based between the North East of Scotland, the Netherlands and Finland, the project draws on a shared love of atmospheric songwriting and intimate live performance. Leah Hodder returns to music after a hiatus from performing and songwriting, having previously played venues including King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut alongside artists such as Joshua James, featured on American drama TV series, Sons of Anarchy (Disney +), Ren Harvieu and James Allan of Glasvegas, as well as appearances at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and venues and festivals across Scotland.

Martin Koster, originally from the Netherlands and now splitting his time between Finland and North-east Scotland, helps shape the band’s spacious, cinematic sound, while fiddle player and vocalist Ian Grigor brings deep roots in the Scottish folk scene through performances at Speyfest, Tour Bus Fortune and the Fochabers Fiddlers.
